It has a sampler that can slice up a loop and then put the slices of the loop on separate keys on your keyboard. You can then use the sample at any tempo( BPM) and its pitch remains the same only the speed of the sample changes. You can even play any of the slices you want and then sequence them. Pattern Mode lets you create the sections of a song (Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Breaks, Interlude etc.) as individual sequences without having to decide the final take. This DVD will teach you all that and more we cover all these features. Sample with Note is easy if you want to add samples to your song like the vocals. In Sample with note mode, you can record samples directly into your sequence while listening to playback of any MIDI tracks you’re already created. After recording the sample, the Integrated Sampling Sequencer will create a sample voice, map it to the keyboard and place a MIDI note that will trigger the sample in the pattern. Slice with Sequence: when you record samples, the MOTIF will analyze the recorded audio, slice it into pieces (based on amplitude peaks and divisions of the beat) and then create an accurate MIDI sequence to perfectly playback each of the pieces.
